Amazon Prime Early Access is here!
Just when you thought all hope was lost on scoring early deals on holiday gifts, Amazon has come to the rescue. As if the incredible savings from Prime Day in July weren’t enough, Amazon is planning a second Prime exclusive shopping day this year called Prime Early Access Sale.
Fall is normally a quiet period for finding deals until the craziness of Black Friday and Cyber Monday arrive. Now, you won’t have to wait until the last minute to scoop up deals on your friends and family holiday gifts or personal shopping.
When Is The Prime Early Access Sale Event?
According to Amazon, a press release says that the Prime Early Access Sale event will take place on October 11th and 12th.
With Black Friday and Cyber Monday already planned for November, it’s logical the event would take place beforehand in October. We surveyed our 625,000+ consumer following and found that 63% of shoppers are not aware of a Prime Early Access Sale event.
Amazon pushed the window of awareness this year as they typically announce dates 3-4 weeks prior to deal events. This event comes with only 2 weeks of promotional time.
What To Expect: Get The Best Fall Deals
Although we don’t know have any specific deals yet, we have noticed shopping trends during former Prime Deal Events and what tends to happen during the Fall season.
We historically see consumers’ spending in October focused on necessities rather than luxury goods.
We analyzed over 52,000 purchases from October 2021 and found that approximately 60% of items were concentrated in hygiene, home improvement or groceries. We predict that the Prime Early Access Sale Event will be an especially great time to save on household items.

Old Model/Versions Likely To Go On Sale
Products that typically get updated every year have historically been discounted in Q4 as brands try to get rid of old models and versions. Therefore, items in the electronic and appliance spaces are usually the steepest discounts.
For instance, TVs normally release new models in January, so deal events such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday have been great opportunities for manufacturers to sell out and move onward.
Possible Amazon Device Discounts
As with any Amazon-sponsored deal event, the brand themselves will likely have some great deals available.
During Prime Day 2022, there were incredible deals on a variety of Amazon-branded items. Most notably, we saw the Halo View fitness tracker, Fire TV Stick and Echo Dot marked down steeply.
Best Sellers From Last Fall Prime Day
In 2020, Amazon held Prime Day on October 13th and 14th. At the time, the event marked Amazon’s two largest days ever. As you’ll see, even with deals being present, 4 out of the top 5 most-purchased items in the United States were either home improvement or grocery-related.
