Our testing process for these workbenches took us a long time. Why? Besides the Fedmax workbench, every item we ordered arrived damaged, missing parts or missing install instructions. Reliability is our highest grading criteria due to the fact that most of these products were unable to be assembled until weeks after they first arrived for one reason or another. What good is sturdy and stylish workbench if it takes over a month to put to use?
When in doubt, trust those who’ve come before you. While we don’t always look at reviews, we certainly do when a decision is going to cost $100 – 200. There are lots of new products being launched but reviews tell all. Look for not just the best rating but also the number of reviews. Quantity will tell you a lot about consistency and quality over time. Evaluate many marketplaces’ reviews before making your final decision.
Different projects require different positioning and heights. You want the most customizable workbench to accommodate any type of work. We found that many of these items tout being easy to move around and adjust the height. We found that most workbenches with drawers or back panels had considerably lower amounts of adjustability than traditional workbenches.
